Cooney Racing Stables is a stakes winning Thoroughbred racing and training operation based at historic Walnut Hall Farm in Boyce,VA. Walnut Hall offers ideal facilities for training racehorses including 40 plus stalls, multiple turnout options, a six horse eurociser, turf gallops and a 5/8 mile training track with 4 stall starting gate.
Cooney Racing breaks yearlings and two year olds and trains all ages for racing. With two trucks and trailers, they ship to all East Coast and some Midwest tracks, shipping horses to the venue that gives them the best chance to win. Susan is currently licensed as a trainer in VA, MD, WV, NY, NJ, PA and KY.
Cooney Racing employs a hands-on approach that gives each horse personalized attention. They know all of their horses as individuals, and working with them daily maximizes their understanding of what each horses needs to perform at its best.
Client communication is also important to Cooney Racing and clients are contacted on a regular basis by phone and/or email, depending on client preference. Cooney Racing clients are kept abreast of their horses’ progress and their racing schedules, and are welcome at Walnut Hall.
